Paweł Ślawski - The Role of the Father in the Religious Education of the Child in the Light of the 2020 Directory for Catechesis
This article aims to highlight the role of the father as the child’s first catechist, responsible for shaping the child’s spiritual and religious identity and for introducing the child to the experience of faith. It begins with an analysis of the sociocultural changes that have shaped perceptions of fatherhood and its educational role. Drawing on contemporary pedagogical, psychological, and theological literature, the author presents a definitional and functional approach to the father as an educator and spiritual guide for the child. A comparison of the father’s tasks with the role of the catechist, as defined in the 2020 Directory for Catechesis, reveals their common goal: the integral education of children in the faith. This article seeks to highlight the complementarity of these two roles and to underscore the father’s irreplaceable role in passing on the deposit of faith, shaping the image of God, and accompanying the child in the process of spiritual maturation. It concludes with praxeological insights that can inspire fathers who wish to consciously and responsibly undertake their spiritual mission in the family. This paper is both theoretical and analytical, based on a heuristic method that analyses Church documents and academic literature concerning pedagogy, theology, and psychology.
Rola ojca w wychowaniu religijnym dziecka w świetle Dyrektorium o katechizacji z roku 2020
Celem artykułu jest ukazanie roli ojca jako pierwszego katechety dziecka, odpowiedzialnego za kształtowanie jego tożsamości duchowej i religijnej oraz wprowadzanie w doświadczenie wiary. Punktem wyjścia jest analiza przemian społeczno-kulturowych, które wpłynęły na postrzeganie ojcostwa oraz jego funkcji wychowawczej. Autor, odwołując się do współczesnej literatury pedagogicznej, psychologicznej i teologicznej, przedstawia definicyjne i funkcjonalne ujęcie ojca jako wychowawcy i duchowego przewodnika dziecka. Zestawienie zadań ojca z rolą katechety – określoną w Dyrektorium o katechizacji z 2020 roku – pozwala na ukazanie ich wspólnego celu, jakim jest integralne wychowanie do wiary. Artykuł podejmuje próbę ukazania komplementarności tych dwóch ról oraz wskazania na niezastąpioną rolę ojca w przekazywaniu depozytu wiary, kształtowaniu obrazu Boga oraz towarzyszeniu dziecku w procesie dojrzewania duchowego. W zakończeniu przedstawiono wnioski prakseologiczne, które mogą stanowić inspirację dla ojców pragnących w sposób świadomy i odpowiedzialny podejmować swoją duchową misję w rodzinie. Artykuł ma charakter teoretyczno-analityczny i opiera się na metodzie heurystycznej, obejmującej analizę dokumentów Kościoła oraz literatury naukowej z zakresu pedagogiki, teologii i psychologii.
